Universal law of Baby Dynamics

An expecting couple are prepared to the changes that are to come with the new member in the family. They’re continuously trained and guided by the family. But most others like the poor aunt (myself)who has no clue about the canon ball disguised in the shape of soft squishy baby is going to wreak a havoc. One would think what could a small baby do, all they do is eat and sleep they don’t even walk or talk. Everyone only keeps showing you how adorable they’re, but here are a list of things that no one will tell you, but you need to be prepared.

Law 1 A baby in a cradle (thottil) can be awake or asleep but never asleep the moment you step away from the cradle.

They say upto 3 months babies have poor vision and rely on sense of smell, maybe that is why they know your absence even when they’re in their cloth thottil (cradle). Next time you want to leave the room without your baby knowing leave a bottle of your perfume open.

Law 2 It states that the space occupied by an arm length baby is exponentially proportional to it’s size.

There is never enough space to keep all the kids stuff. No matter how many new shelves, cup boards, almirahs you buy all of them are going to overflow with the things of a baby. Tonnes of clothes, none used except the handkerchief sized cotton cloth with rope ties. Toys, blankets, diapers, wipes and millions of other stuff that are scattered all around the place. No, you can never ever in forever get it organized. If you see any household that is kept prim and proper despite having a baby, trust me they’re a family of socerers.

Law 3 At any instant of time there is one song, exactly one song that the baby wants to hear whether awake or asleep.

Be prepared to hear one song in loop at least for the next 3 years. These are the times you ask why electricity was invented and sometimes you wonder what did mothers do before recorded music was invented did they sing the song over and over again. Whether you like it or not, be it “Baby Shark” or “Udhaya krishna nei nei nei” your ears and brains are going to be filled with it.
Sometimes I think it’s my niece who single handedly made Baby shark the most viewed video on youtube.

Do not trust the doe-eyed little ones they’re extremely mischievous and can outsmart you anytime.
